How to leave an honest Amazon review without performing

Reviews move the book. Empty five-stars do not. Here is a way to do it cleanly.

Amazon's ranking system cares about verified reviews. That is a fact of the market, not a personality trait of the author. If the book earned your time, a short, specific review is the single most useful thing you can do for it after buying.

Do not write 'Amazing!!! Everyone should read this.' Write one true sentence about what the book did. Example: 'This is the first addiction memoir I have read that did not rush the ending.' Example: 'I bought this for my brother coming home. We did not finish it in one sitting, which is the point.'

Star honestly. A serious four-star review from a reader who names a flaw is worth more than a hollow five. If a chapter dragged, say so. If the voice held you, say how.

Amazon forbids reviews that ask for reviews, mention pricing games, or include promotional URLs. Keep it about the reading. No screenshots of chats with the author. No 'I received a free copy in exchange for a positive review' unless that is actually true — and if it is, disclose it.

The review link for Lost Generation is on the Buy page of this site. Two minutes. Specific, dated, human. That is the whole job.
